RDA iodine is about 150 mcg daily. We use Lugo or Iodoral supplement which is 12.5 mg total iodine per tablet. I take one three times weekly. Want to saturate tissues with iodine. These products have both potassium iodide and plain molecular iodine. If your tissues are saturated, then it is not likely for your body to take on more as in radioactive iodine fallout. It will be quickly cleared as unnecessary. Seaweed is the source of all iodine. But seaweed as a food will provide the RDA, it might not. be enough on its own without supplement to completely saturate your tissues. I have taken larger amounts of iodine in the past but got some mild acne, so I take less these days as above.

How is this Trumps fault? You can be certain Obiden, Clapper and Brennan are giving NATO the directives to ignite a nuclear war just in time for Trump to take the blame.

I was afraid this would happen. My feeling was the Biden admin. would do something drastic in Ukraine in an attempt to derail Trump somehow. Or, the Military Industrial Complex sees this as it's last chance to protect their evil interests. There are plenty of Republican who also support war with Russia.

First of its kind ICBM has been used and launched into Ukraine from Russia….So it begins (luckily no nuclear warhead was attached)!

Do people not listen to the democrats speak? They do not believe in Trump’s “mandate” despite the people making it clear. They are unable to ever admit when they are wrong and this makes them dangerous. Hakeem Jeffries ( who is more radical than Nancy) has said this outright.

They are leaving Trump with a huge mess and possible a war.

Their malicious treatment of members ( now ex members) of their own party shows you how bitter and hateful they are, this is the only thing uniting them, hate of anyone who won’t go along with their divisive ways.

I was in Ukraine and Russia in 2018 and the amount of people living there with family in both countries is very common.

I would like your suggestion on Iodine tablets, thank you.

I personally take Lugo iodine tablets, one 4 times a week. Iodoral is another.

Do you have a suggestion for iodine tablets for those of us that have sensitivity to them?

Without being a doctor, I’d say when it comes to being exposed to radioactive material effecting your Thyroid, you’ll want to “fill up your Thyroid” with Iodine so that no radioactive iodine can enter for 24 hours (and preventing an even worse sensitivity to radiation exposure due to a nuke). 🙃

First, the Biden administration does not want Ukraine to have to give up part of its land. Neither does Zelenskyy, of course. Whenever they come to the bargaining table with Russia, they need to be in a strong position. This is the purpose of their using weapons that can reach into Russia.

Second, Russia invaded Ukraine unprovoked and has also committed war crimes. Ukraine and NATO should not be blamed for escalation but supported in Ukraine's self defense. Put the blame where the blame is due.

We have to figure out how to prevent nuclear war without giving into Putin and letting him take over any country he wants.

Thank you Gretchen. We will have to respectfully agree to disagree. I cannot approve of the invasion. However, I don't believe for one minute that it was not provoked by those who want war. Russia and Putin repeatedly put their position out that Ukraine must not aling with NATO and the West. This was part of the Minsk accords from 10 years ago. I strongly believe this war could have been easily avoided. And, I believe that the NEOCONS are driving traffic to escalation. My personal beliefs. I have mentioned Martin Armstrong's blog at Armstrongeconomics. I respect his posts highly. He has been amazingly accurate and wise.

Dear Dr. Rowen, I heartily agree with everything you expressed in this post. I too would like to know which iodine supplement you recommend and how much you recommend that we take before any potential disaster. I also would like to know what the daily RDA for iodine is, if the RDA can be a trusted figure. We drink reverse osmosis water and use Himalayan salt so we may not be getting enough iodine. What do you recommend for daily intake? Thank you, Doctor, if you would be so kind as to post your recommendations and some helpful information about adding iodine to our diet.
