Shellfish Danger in Pacific Northwest and the Laws of Kosher

The ancient Israelites knew quite a bit about health and hygiene. They had laws of kashrut, meaning clean. The word “kosher” is what we use today to signify food produced in accordance with the laws.

In the Pacific Northwest right now, residents are warned about eating shellfish, as mussels and other similar organisms have accumulated a naturally occurring toxin made by algae, and which causes paralytic shellfish poisoning. There is no conventional antidote, though it is not necessarily fatal.

Orthodox Jews and those who follow the laws of kashrut eschew ALL shellfish and all bottom feeders. The law is that what comes from lakes, rivers and seas must have scales and be able to swim. (Catfish do not have scales. Shrimp do not swim.) How did they have the foresight to know the risks? Hepatitis A can also be accumulated in shellfish and infect the one who ingests it.

Regarding higher animals, the laws require that the animal be killed instantly, painlessly (humanely). We know that if the animal senses fear that hormones are released not good for the consumer. The animal must be bled. That gets rid of a lot of iron which otherwise can accumulate in the eater. Only grass eaters with cloven hoofs were allowed.  Eating the meat of a predator is not healthy or wise. Meat from predators is forbidden. Pig meat was/is forbidden  Pig meat is a double whammy. Pigs can transmit parasites, particularly trichinosis. Also, pigs are quite similar to humans, pig meat can load us up with toxins our body does not want. Not only is pork forbidden in the Hebrew line, but also the Muslim religion. And, one cannot mix milk with meat. A good idea. Milk may coat the meat and prevent acids and enzymes from properly digesting the meat. Undigested meat will go through the gut where bacteria will create toxins.  neutralize the stomach acids needed to break down meat. Another interesting tidbit is that fields had to be laid fallow for a year every several years. That helps the land regenerate.

The ancients had so much wisdom, much of which we’ve scorned. As a vegetarian, I am obviously “kosher” in these regards.

Interestingly, the Jews practiced general cleanliness. It was for that reason that they generally did well during medieval plague times, but, of course were blamed for the plague for just that reason, and either killed or kicked out of their villages. And the gentiles did not understand their (Jewish) dietary practices, which were superior.

I have not asked clients to be vegetarian. I was not for much of my life. I am now for spiritual reasons. I only ask clients to make sure that their meat is organic, pasture raised, organic, humanely raised and humanely killed. Kosher meat sadly only addresses the mode of slaughter.

Incidentally, speaking of food in this post, I strongly suggest you prepare yourself for possible hard times. The hijackers of our nation are leading us right into an unnecessary war. Did you ever see the Star Trek (original) series where an entity got into the ship and fed off the emotions and fears of the crew? They were almost destroyed before they figured it out.

The American people seem not to have figured out that war mongers have hijacked our government. Demons who feed off keeping people in a frenzy (via media and politicians) and profit off the armaments no matter who wins. We have a controlled press, as you know, which is not telling the American people of the Minsk accords of a decade ago where there were agreements and understandings regarding Ukraine NOT moving to the West politically, or joining NATO. Just look at what is going on, with the push to get Ukraine into NATO, and this week the theft of Russian assets in Europe to give to Ukraine to help pay for this endless war, in addition to impoverishing us via our taxes and debt to pay for it. There is a deep, deep recent history carefully hidden from us.  Even today Putin offered an end to the war if Ukraine ends its bid to join NATO, and there is guaranteed protection for the Russian speaking population in the country.

Follow the money trail here as you do with Pharma.  I believe the Russians are being deliberately goaded into an escalation that should never happen. I am very sensitive so some of the issues involved, having been alive in 1962. America did not want Soviet missiles in and a nuclear war was threatened. Similarly, Russia does not want military of the West in Ukraine on its border. Why the double standard? I could go on exposing the corruption here but this is a health column and I am addressing it because I am now terrified that we have moved several steps closer to catastrophic war (which will affect the health of us all) under a feeble President clearly controlled by forces I believe are malevolent. If I am correct about malevolence in government, it explains the utter disintegration of our nation and social order in just 3.5 years.

So, please have a non-perishable food supply for several weeks, and also whatever medicines you might need for emergency.  Here I do pray and ask for God to help all of humanity realize that we are all children of the Creator and hurting another human is akin to an assault on that Source that created we humans, and an assault on every one of his brothers and sisters. Will my prayers be answered? Not unless humans awaken to the obvious spiritual war taking place on this planet plunging us deeper into darkness. I do have faith that we will before we allow ourselves to be totally destroyed by the dark side.
