You mentioned you had an unique injection of dextrose subcutaneously to reset damaged nerves. Was this treatment referred to as PNI (Perineural Injection)?
Over a year ago I developed what my doctor called Cervico-occipital neuralgia. The pain would start on the right side of my neck caused by a neck injury and ran behind my right ear and go over the top of my head and stop at my right eye. The headache pain got to be unbearable. This went on for months. Then someone told be about a local N.P. in my area that did the PNI treatment. I made an appointment with her. The treatment only took a few minutes. It consisted of a series of about 6 subcutaneous dextrose Injections. I saw some relief after the first set of injections. A week later after the second appointment the pain was completely gone. The good thing about this treatment was that it was covered by Medicare. They allowed 3 injections over a 3 week period. If I needed more, I would have to wait 6 months after the last treatment before they would cover more treatments. Or I could pay $175.00 and not have to wait the 6 months. Fortunately for me the 3 injections in 3 weeks was all I needed.
I understand that you have used a broad range of therapies for your shingles condition. Could you discuss the primary lessons learned or what you would do again for sure (e.g., top 5 or so therapies
Thanks for the update. I know what it's like to take sick and EVERYONE has a suggestion on what you should do . Meaning well of course . I was just wondering if you've ever heard of Dr. Jack Kruse who uses Sun Therapy or Red Light therapy ? It looks very promising and I thought you might be interested or are familiar with him . He's in El Salvador and is a proponent of Decentralized Medicine and the Freedoms that El Salvador has in this regard . Nice to hear you are better .
Good you better. Now do something very useful and investigate the clinical trials (IF ANY!!!) for the current shingles vaccine and tell us if you think it's valid and if the vaccine does anything to make the potential side effects worth it. I note on Wikepedia article (I didn't check the listed references yet) that the Absolute Risk Reduction to get shingles is 3.3% over 3 1/2 years and the risk reduction of the neuralgia is only .3%. See if you have time for this. Also I'm sure all of us would like to know if you ever got the Zostovax shot and/or the Singrix one. Thank you.
If you are not aware of Dr Dennis Courtney, Courtney Medical Group, Pittsburgh, and his Pittsburgh Eye Protocol you might wish to contact him as fast as you can.
So sorry, Dr. Rowen, to hear about the pain and suffering that you have had to endure, but so glad to hear you are making a good recovery! I continue to pray for you. Best wishes always! Thanks, as always, for all that you do for your patients!
Thank you for this very personal newsletter; I am so happy to read your update. You truly are blessed to have survived this unbelievably painful journey of many months. I was very touched and impressed by the way in which you prayed. That is like a short instruction manual for how to pray 🙂. From my belief system, it appears that you worked off a huge amount of karma that has moved you much closer to the ultimate destination of the realization of our oneness with God or the Source of all that is.
Actually, 140 will kill you. The correct temperature for these effects is 104. I will be having more posts on thermotherapy and a podcast is shortly to be posted discussing PEMF with a bit on thermotherapy. For more information, contact Dr. John Kressler at (443) 370-2355

That is what it was.
I wonder if you or anyone here can recommend a person offering PNI treatment in Vermont for post shingles neuralgia.
Thanks for the informative update. Please write about the thermotherapy heat dome. Details like the specific heat source(s) are of interest.

I’d love to read about shingles therapies too!

I had red light therapy as well. Love it.

Did you use ozone while in your heat chamber?
No, not while in it.

Keep Getting Better Sir!!! GOD is Good!!!
Thank God you are feeling better. I believe in the power of prayer.
I’ve read that temperatures of 140-150F destroys the molecular structure of viruses. I’d like to read more about the thermo treatments you did.
