We are so blessed to be able to access your medical wisdom, while the lovely Dr Rowen is "banged up" in the chokey. I have just read your article, and can see immediately that we can learn a lot from you.
Hey Doc : I just came across this and it's supposed to do wonders for Alzheimer's and other issues and was wondering if you've heard of it or what your thoughts about it might be.? It's called "Methylene Blue" .
I am a functional medicine doctor and have just attended a lecture on methylene blue last night. It works at the level of the mitochondria and helps restore their function which is the powerhouse of the cell. All chronic diseases have low mitochondrial function. It also appears to have evidence to show that it improves Alzheimers among other disease processes. It is also very safe.
I've also been researching Methylene Blue. Pubmed shows nearly 24,000 articles, and some say it works better when combined with Light Therapy. I've been taking a low dose for about two months. It has improved my sleep, and I seem to have small improvements in memory.
I've been using Light Therapy for about 12+ years (personally, not professionally). I believe it is the most healing of the energies. Light can restore DNA (Fritz Albert Popp), and it can repair severed nerves (Michael Hamblin). Light and sound/vibration at 40 Hz can work wonders for neurodegenerative conditions.
Welcome, Dr. Kenner! And thanks for the interesting info. Another cause of memory loss are tick-borne diseases. Some of the smart drugs, such as Piracetam, along with ginkgo, phosphatidylserine have helped me with short-term memory. I also take pregnegelone - didn’t know that about it. My long-term memory ain’t so great either, but often that’s a good thing.
