Dear Subscriber,
A few days ago, I wrote about plastics in the environment. The situation is scary. We discovered belatedly what a non-digestible compound does to our bodies. Asbestos is a good example. A tiny bit can lodge in your lungs from previously installed fire-resistant mineral fiber. But your immune cells see it and try to “nuke” it but cannot succeed. But the bombs it hurls are deflected and damage nearby lung tissue, eventually causing an untreatable lung cancer – mesothelioma.
I have seen a number of lung cancers through the years. I’ve often wondered in the non-smokers, what could have done it, especially in some who live rather healthy lifestyles. Plastics may be to the body what asbestos is. And scientists have found it in organs, placenta, animal fetuses, and more. To me, the report is revealing the canary in the coal mine for planet earth.
Please take a look at the lint in your drier. Look at how your fabrics fray, and release tiny fibers which easily spread throughout your home and outside. Plastic fibers are lighter than cotton and natural fabric. You can see that easily by placing a piece of plastic on water. It floats.
I don’t think we have a clue if the tiniest of particles could be absorbed through your skin. A favorite of women is the bra – most of which are synthetic.
