Dear Subscriber,
Well, if you see this picture and the “hat” I am wearing, please don’t think it is a chef’s hat. Its actually another marvelous innovation by ozone company Promolife. This bag is tough flexible plastic and easily fits over your head to be filled with ozone. Here is an interesting opportunity to get your scalp treated with ozone which just doesn’t happen otherwise due to the problems with inhaling ozone. When we do ozone saunas, your head sticks out of the sauna, while your body gets bathed with the gas. With this, your scalp gets bathed.
I was pleasantly surprised by this device. It fit nicely on my head which still has a fair amount of hair. Nice tight fit so that when filled with ozone gas, I did not smell it in excess of my comfort level. In fact, essentially none was escaping, and I didn’t even wet my head, which would likely stop any escape of gas. If you have a small head circumference, or want to be sure no gas escapes, get a narrow strip of wet towel to line the inside of the elastic band. That will block escape as this method is used for extremity ozone bagging.
Now, what can you do with this? I have been injecting ozone gas into my scalp intermittently for years. So far, despite all the stress I have, I have managed to keep a reasonable head of hair for a man my age. The lady who cuts my hair says the recession has essentially halted. I think I will use this method instead of injections simply to avoid sticking myself. However, I do think injections will likely be superior as injections will deliver ozone directly to the rich vasculature of the scalp.
Should I wet my hair? Well, my hair is already fully grey. Ozone can bleach color as does peroxide. I believe if my hair is wet, that process could speed up. So, I’ll not wet my hair, but I will wet the bald skin where my hair is receding. Water attracts ozone and may provide for better skin absorption and where I want the ozone to go. If one wants to wet hair, no problem. Just be prepared for bleaching faster than not wetting the hair.
Conditions I will recommend for patients.
1. Any form of alopecia.
2. Male pattern baldness
3. Inflammatory skin problems, dermatitis
4. Local infection
5. Wounds
6. Open sores
7.
Concentration – For infection, I use high concentration – 50mcg/cc and above. But for general use, such as what I am seeking (preservation of my hair line) I’ll use about 20 mcg/cc. High concentrations of ozone can cause an itchy rash in some people.
Frequency – daily, up to 6 days a week. I always like a day off from ozone therapy.
Volume – I will largely fill up the bag. I had my device set at 1 liter per minute and in 3-4 minutes I had plenty of gas in the bag, and not leaking.
After enough gas is in the bag, I can close the clamp on the inlet line so that it doesn’t leak out and disconnect the line from the ozone generator so that I can go about and do my work. After 20-30 minutes, I connect the line to the ozone “destruct” and open the clamp. I gently “squeeze” the bag to force the ozone through the destruct so that it is converted back to oxygen with no ozone odor or irritation. If I squeeze too fast, some gas might leak out though the elastic and be available for inhalation – which I don’t want.
I know it works for ozonating. Even the following morning I rubbed my finger on my balding area to pick up skin oils and could detect the faint odor of ozone. So, the oils on my skin did pick it up and some has to make it through the surface and into my scalp. But I need to get feedback on how it works on treating various scalp and hair challenges. I would be most grateful if you would message me if you decide to use it, and let me know the condition you are using it for, how you used it, and the results.

I have worked around ozone for decades and smell it all the time in low concentrations. For the average person, a whiff of gas is not an issue, unless it is a large whiff and with higher concentrations. My lungs are fine with all this, you know I hike regularly and I know I have good lung capacity after all these years of ozone use. However, some people can be highly sensitive to ozone inhalation and it can cause wheezing and cough. So, I encourage patients to be careful to be sure there is a good seal and the ozone is not squeezed out of the bag too fast when treatment ends. Remember, it can bleach your hair. I’m not sure how much more my hair can be whitened (smile).
This is a relatively new innovation and I am happy to be involved in it. I am working with Promolife on something similar for teeth and gums and will let you know when available.
FYI. I published a review article on ozone therapy a few years back. Here is the link: https://www.medgasres.com/article.asp?issn=2045-9912;year=2019;volume=9;issue=4;spage=232;epage=237;aulast=Rowen
The scalp ozone is just another delivery method of ozone targeting scalp issues. But I provide the link for a more in depth understanding of what ozone is and its awesome healing potential.

I also have Promolife and PURO3 products and greatly appreciate their health benefits! I realized you can use the Promolife accessories for Molecular Hydrogen products from www.hydrogen4healthy.com
The combination of Ozone and Molecular Hydrogen are outstanding! It is my opinion that you are only limited with these tools by your own imagination!
Dr. Rowen, I have watched numerous videos that you have done over the years and am always inspired! Thank you for your service!
Ozonated Pur03 Olive Oil works well on my scalp the Ozonated Hemp hold the Ozone best, but Hemp smells. The 03 Olive oil rid my scalp of psoriasis and helps increase hair growth. Its the Ozone and the doctors statements are on target.
