Dear Subscriber,

I received a message from a reader who mentioned some concern of his over the presence of isoleucine in my cramps formula. First, I want to reassure him and anyone else about the relatively minuscule amount of isoleucine in the formula, as the exact amino acid composition is proprietary.

If you eat an 8-ounce piece of steak, you will be ingesting a lot of amino acids, including THREE grams of isoleucine. I will get to some just reported issues about isoleucine potentially highly relevant to the health or not good health of all of us. But to rest his nerves, my cramp product does not even have 4% of the amount of the isoleucine you’d get in that piece of steak. I am not particularly worried about consuming a few percent more under any circumstances, and particularly when the quality of life (cramps) appears to be so beneficially affected.

If you have interest in Cramps Be Gone, it is available from Your Essential Supplements company but not on their website. Must be ordered by email here: client-care@yes-supplements.com. And yes, both Terri and I take the product as we have been afflicted with cramps as we entered our 70s and so far, has worked extremely well for us and all users who have reported back to us. We need it only intermittently!

But I am somewhat concerned about the magnitude more (at least 10-fold) of isoleucine you are getting in a standard diet. Here’s why, and this could apply potentially to everyone who eats even an average amount of animal protein, and provide a means to dramatically slow the aging processes for us all. And, a much more pleasant means to weight and metabolic control by actually burning more calories rather than restricting them!

First, here is a table below laying out the amino acid content of that 8 oz (240 grams) of meat.
