Dear Subscriber,
One reader of my Substack commented on my posts, wondering if I am covering too much in the political venue. I do feel it fair game to cover any political matter related to health and environment, and fundamental freedoms since these are intimately replated to health care rights. And, since I co-authored a popular book on the monetary system, I feel I a fit to raise issues so related.
One such matter that I’ve seen come up in the past week is my lunatic communist state now covering medical care for illegal immigrants. It appears that our runaway state rulers consider health care a “right” for all within the boundaries of the state. Therefore, sneak across the border and after you are fed, clothed and housed, you can get medical care as well.
So why does this bother me? Because I know many hard-working Californians, who earn say $25 per hour. Hmmmm. For most, they don’t qualify for Medical, they make “too much”. (But not even enough to purchase organic food).
So, their state will tax their meager leftover earnings after federal taxation to pay for medical care for the illegals who break the law to steal across the border. Imagine, the working poor in the state paying for the medical care for illegals.
Our state is doing this as the corrupt Rulers consider medical care a “Right” in order to gain votes. To me, even more important than medical care is protection from the elements (clothing and shelter), sanitation, and food. So, our state will pay for medical care for illegals as a “right” (follow the money trail!), while thousands of our own suffer on the streets in the elements, starve, with feces on the street. (Under the rulership of Gavin Newsom, a presidential wannabe) And, the area gets cleaned up only when Chinese dictator Xi pays the golden city (San Francisco) a visit.
So, I will throw in something that you likely never heard in our “democracy” (aka, mob rule), never learned in civics, but likely will recognize as a Truth. Our nation was founded by seers, who really knew the horror of tyranny and did what they could in framing the limitations of government in the national and state constitutions to save us from the cancerous administrative goliath that oppresses us today. (Ben Franklin, asked what kind of government we were handed, responded, ““A republic if you can keep it”:
From an early Supreme Court case at the nation’s dawn, a ruling handed down by Founding judges, which really tells us the understanding of the limits of “government” in what once was our system:
“A law that punishes a citizen for an innocent action, or, in other words for an act which, when done, was in violation of no existing law; a law that destroys or impairs the lawful private contracts of citizens; a law that makes a man a judge in his own case, or a law that takes property from a person A and gives it to B., is contrary to the great first principles of the social compact, and cannot be considered as a rightful exercise of legislative authority. The genius, the nature, the spirit of the state governments, amount to a prohibition of such acts of legislation, and the general principle of law and reason forbid them.” Calder et ux. V. Bull et ux. 3 Dall. 386 per Chase. J. [1795].
Please read the above again, and it will help you understand further what I have stood up fighting for and fighting against. I love my country for the principles upon which it was founded. We have lost the nation I was born into only some 70+ years ago.
The purpose of government, according to our Founding document (Declaration of Independence) is to protect our unalienable RIGHTS, which includes your Right to provide for yourself and protect YOUR family.
Please consider the hard-working Americans on the edge of existence, who cannot properly feed their children, and have to work 2 jobs, and then consider that the tyrannical government in California is forcing them to contribute to the care of border crossing criminals to the detriment of their own families.
I am open to constructive comments on this issue. I welcome them. I believe we have lost our way.
To The End of Tyranny,
Robert Jay Rowen, MD
PS Meanwhile, the entire planet might be going down. I am very concerned we are past the point of no return on certain environmental matters:

I genuinely feel that the subjects you cover, and have covered, in your posts and emails are relevant to our understanding of how government (however tyrannical it has become) and our health have become dangerously intertwined. I sincerely appreciate your thoughtful perspectives and informative approach to all that is relevant to us, our health and our well-being. Thank you and God bless you and yours. May you always be able to continue your work and the expression of your observations through freedom of speech.
Keep up the good work. Haters gotta hate...
The solution, although virtually impossible, is the repeal of the 16th amendment. The problem is that the government, as a result of that amendment, now has way more money than it knows what to do with, and if they run out, they just print more, which is just another way to rob us as this devalues all extant currency. Gold was $20/oz when Washington was POTUS, and $25 just prior to the 16th amendment. So, a 25% increase in over a century, followed by roughly 8000% increase in the next 100 years.
The 16th should never have gotten past SCOTUS, as it violates the founding principles by making citizen A pay more than citizen B (initially) and as BS expands to fill the space available, we now have citizen A paying more than half his/her income while citizen B not only pays nothing, but actually gets paid.
The natural progression is for a corrupt government to actually WANT more takers than payers, because the takers are guaranteed votes for more of the same. Democrats, completely unimpeded by Republicans, continue to create new "rights" out of whole cloth.
As Adam Carolla once said, if you put a family of beavers on top of the Willis Tower, they'll build a dam, because that's what beavers do. Politicians, who create nothing during their entire lives, gather daily to write new laws, because that's what they do. The CA legislature passes more than 500 bills, with a tangled mass of new laws, regulations, and assessments very year. There really aren't enough lawyers in the world to challenge each of those, and the 9th circuit is so corrupt that they rubber stamp things that are clearly out of step with the Constitution.
The founders anticipated that successful men (sorry ladies, it was men back then) would essentially volunteer to be legislators, probably occupying a few weeks out each year, and receiving remuneration for expenses, not a six-figure salary and an unlimited expense account. We lost the Republic over a hundred years ago, with the 16th A and the Fed.
Meanwhile, it is more than appropriate for guys like us who publish health info to be politically active, even though we don't currently see any good options. For my entire 73-year life, legislators have tried to regulate vitamins, and we've somehow stopped them. But for how much longer?
The plandemic was just another stepping stone or yet another termite mound eating away at the foundations of our nation. I am only happy that I have no children, because the next 100 years is going to be a nightmare.
My only financial advice is to buy ammo.
