Dear Subscriber,
First, personal update. I am improving. Yesterday, I took my usual semi-difficult hike up a 900 feet hill and about 4.5 miles round trip with 10 pounds of dead weights on my back, and the shingles skin did not hurt from the load! First attempt in 5 weeks, when I felt “angina” from the incubating shingles coming down the mountain, which told me something was wrong with me.
Today I did gardening, hauling around heavy rain loaded bags of soil for my raised beds. I do credit everything I tried, as I am, at last, seeing results. My pain level is “tolerable” and I could live with this if I had to. Three weeks ago, I could not have said that. I continued treatments with the Regenu3 very kindly and graciously provided me by Bus Thompson. It is a sophisticated computerized program that electronically identifies conditions and provides treatment. My colleague Dr. Brad Weeks also so very graciously sent me a unique produce packed with anti-inflammatory antioxidants called “Soul”. Tastes great and rubs on the lesions very well. Very anti-inflammatory. I have provided email links for those who have interest. Then, late last week, Terri and I visited one Kelly Corliss just east of Sacramento. She graciously provided me with a light treatment and special mineral concoction she carries. I have taken the minerals and put them also in some oils kindly sent to me by others. I made a brew of these oils, and topical methylene blue lotion (provided by Gene Barnett, manufacturer of the Theralumen wrist light device I use daily) together with the minerals, and all these seem to be gradually improving my local skin condition. I want to honor those who simply came out of the blue to help me out with material assistance. If I left anyone out, let me know. As I previously mentioned, I think our “fever therapy” got the ball rolling for me, by kicking my immune system. Everything else could then fall into place. I have been inhaling hydrogen at both home and in the office (more powerful machine). And using PEMF at home and office.
Of course, while my beloved ozone treatments did not get me the nearly instant results we usually see, I have to believe it participated in my recovery as well. I am using the singlet oxygen device daily at home for convenience as an alternative to ozone. Might be helping! And, your thoughts and prayers have no doubt gone into my developing relief. Thank you all!!! Incidentally, many of you have related acute shingles in yourselves or loved ones after the shingles vaccine. Jury is still out for me. I have an inherent distrust for any vaccines these days.
Food message today. A relatively decent study has found that pre-biotics actually improve cognitive function in impaired older folks. Pre-biotics are compounds that feed your rain forest within your gut (microbiome). The researchers studied the effects of two pre-biotics on cognitive function and muscle strength, controlling for diet and other factors.
Cognitive decline is a real problem facing the aging world. Less babies, and more of us old folks.
We know the gut brain axis is real, and what is going on in your gut can and will affect your brain. I’ve reported here that Parkinson’s is likely toxins migrating up the vagus nerve from your gut to your brain. Bugs in your gut clearly modulate and improve (or damage) your immune system. Here, the study did not look at particular bacteria in the guts of the participants, but what they were taking that could feed the good germs.
Here, the key supplements leading to better cognitive function were
