My now 25 year old son was diagnosed with Asperger‘s at age 15. At age 12, he started with severe anxiety and at age 14 would have meltdowns and be destructive.

I could not figure out what was going on with him and took him to a total of five different therapist and all they wanted to do was shove pills down his throat.

In fact, one of the therapist specifically said after the second appointment if he doesn’t go to the hospital and find out what medicines will work for him he cannot help him. That’s the condition of our psychiatry today and that was 10 years ago. I could tell you horror stories about those five therapist.

I finally found a therapist who could actually tell me what was going on with him and that’s when he was diagnosed with Asperger’s. And to this day, if I would not have found that therapist, I don’t know where my son would be. He worked with him for years on behavioral therapy and he is now a thriving 25-year-old..

The line that autism rates are going up because of better diagnosis is false. Otherwise my son would’ve been diagnosed a lot sooner. I knew very little about autism and he showed no symptoms of what I knew about autism however, unbeknownst, to me there are levels of autism, which I was not aware and he is on the high functioning end of that scale.

We do have an epidemic of autism rates in this country and because my son didn’t show what I would term classic signs of autism, I have no idea if this was caused by vaccination or heredity although I know of no one from past generations in my family that have autism.

We now have three people in my family that have Asperger’s, which includes my son, my niece and a cousin. Sadly, our government has hid from this fact for years, but the cost is going to be enormous.

Look at this:

The proportion of autism cases that has low IQ is going up. If increased diagnosis were the issue, we would probably expect the reverse as more high-functioning people get diagnsoed with autism. Also note the data on just before and after SB277 in California. Alarming spike.
